Summer
in Sölden
Mountains, lifts, biking. The warm season has a lot to offer in Sölden. The high alpine terrain around Sölden offers alpine pastures and huts, action-packed leisure activities or plenty of places to chill out and enjoy spending time. But not only that, attractions are waiting for you such as the James Bond 007 ELEMENTS world of experience, action-packed downhill rides in the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN or he mountain cart aka off-road go-kart. Liebelei founder Romed Pult recommends the following activities for an unforgettable holiday in Sölden, whether with your BFFs or your partner.
007 ELEMENTS
The James Bond world of experience at more than 3,000m is not to be missed. The interactive 007 ELEMENTS museum focuses not only on Spectre, which was partly filmed in Sölden, but also on the history of 60 years of James Bond. You can experience dramatic soundscapes, breath-taking action scenes as well as cars and technical gadgets. The cinematic installation built into the mountain reveals behind-the-scenes insights with a difference.
BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN – It’s all about the flow
Would you like a bit more action? Then the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN is exactly the right terrain. The nation for bikers has a huge network of routes ready. From gentle to hard. You will also get to know the Ötztal dialect, because the lines are titled in the local dialect. So, are you ready for the "Schtirggar Line"?
Hiking on the quiet side
The Windach valley stretches east of Sölden to the Passeiertal valley in the South Tyrol and is inspiring with pure nature and it is free from any lifts. Various tours guarantee you a superlative time-out. Romed's recommendation: Spend the night on the mountain in one of the Alpine Club huts and enjoy the sunrise over the Ötztal!
Let’s get vertical!
How about a via ferrata for a change? Climb rugged crags to reach unique places in the Ötztal. As an enthusiastic via ferrata hiker, you'll probably meet Romed here:
Lehner waterfall via ferrata: Advanced climbers choose the challenging route, while everyone else can celebrate their personal best on the easier version. The highlight is the waterfall that gives the route its name, which you cross spectacularly via a rope bridge.
Reinhard Schiestl via ferrata: Romed recommends the Reinhard Schiestl via ferrata on the Burgsteiner Wand for professionals. This is one of the most difficult in the entire Ötztal and leads up an almost vertical granite wall. At the exit of the via ferrata, the hamlet of Burgstein offers a magnificent view over the Stubai and Ötztal Alps.
Downhill go-karts
The latest offer in Sölden and another action-packed tip from our Liebelei mastermind: the mountain karts. Give your legs a break after a long day of hiking and cruise back down to the valley on the off-road go-kart. From the Gaislachkogl mid-station, you race along the 7.3-kilometre-long route to Sölden. And since you are in the centre of Sölden then, nothing stands in the way of a visit to the Liebelei!
